"Using personas for user stories"
by Lene Nielsen, Associate Professor IT University of Copenhagen
Agile development is becoming increasingly popular. Among the different agile methods most companies use some form of Scrum. The integration of UX into the agile development cycles has been investigated and many ways to integrate has been suggested: parallel UX, one sprint ahead, including the UX specialist in the scrum team, etc. Still these suggestions seem to not to solve the main issue of getting the user research into the sprints. Reported problems are among others: understanding customer and user needs, differences in work practice, too late or no UX work, and lack of UX competences.

In 2016 Nordea Liv & Pension initiated an accelerated transformation of the company’s digital development process to improve the time-to-market, create more innovative solution and increase the involvement of the customers. Over the past two years Chief Digital Officer Christine Loft Hunderup has built a small agile digital development team which is working like a start-up inside the company. The team has established 3 digital customer forums and designed a successful pension-app in co-creation with the customers. During the presentation Christine will:
- Share insights on how Nordea liv & Pension successfully accelerated the digital transformation
- Explain how to co-create with the customers and launch MVP’s through design thinking and Google Venture 5-day design sprints
- Reflect on the challenges of implementing an agile, fail-fast approach in a well-established culture
The speak and discussion will be in English.
